Does the Bible Teach Christians Not To Cut Hair?

May God Bless you Team

There a lot of people out there ready to attack Christians by saying, do you cut your hair? well your disobeying Gods commandments i thought you lived by the bible... the bible tells you your not allowed to cut your hair.

Hey God tells you Christians your not allowed to cut your hair your disobeying him guess your not a true Christian...

Next time anyone comes up and says this to you ask them WHAT GOD ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT!

Because the God of the bible certainly does not teach its a sin to cut your hair, quite the opposite actually so its a dumb assertion to make in the first place, the bible tells us in Corinthians...

"Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?" - 1 Corinthians 11:14

Now this is a solid teaching its giving us here, if the man has long hair, ITS A SHAME UNTO HIM, if the bible taught no to cut your hair, it would be prescribing the thing it speaks against! so its ludicrous to even reason with this argument in the first place but lets use some examples you will have used on you in the battle field..

Now this is the most used, Leviticus 19:27, now a lot of newer versions of the bible has changed the words a little bit (wonder why?, isn't scripture given by God? why are people adding and taking away the word?) so when anybody uses a version on you other than the KJV tell them they have a faulty bible, and we will go by the KJV

Now Leviticus 19:27 says...

"Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard." - Leviticus 19:27

Lots of translations have interpreted that greatly and changed it to basically "don't cut your hair" and that's not what this verse is telling us because as we heard before..

"if a man have long hair it is a shame unto him"

This verse actually bears reference to some heathen nations who would cut and trim their beards and hair into particular shapes in Honor of some pagan god. The Egyptians, for example, had their hair cut short and in a certain way, so that what remained appeared in the form of a circle surrounding the head (the halo was derived from this). In another instance, a round spot would be shaved off. Both of these forms are indications of sun god worship.

Modern forms of such extremes include: extremely short or even no hair to intimidate (e.g., Nazis, skinheads); strangely cut, coloured or spiked hair to intimidate, but also to attract undue attention (e.g., punk rockers, the more recent “Gothic” look, etc.); strangely cut and coloured hair at sporting events (a form of idol worship); and many others.

Shaving one’s facial hair and the regular cutting of the hair on one’s head for normal good grooming however, is something totally different and, in fact, should be common practises for Christians.

So when the bible said

"not round the corners of your head, neither mar the corners of your beard

It was not a command not to cut your hair! Don't stand for that low cheap argument.

There are a number of other verse used that is supposed to be saying were not aloud to cut out hair, but I'm sufficiently pleased that any Christian reading this will know there is no need to repent of cutting your hair, and if any Atheist tries to tell you there is.. quote 1 Corinthians 11:14, and then you know the Lord has told you, we need to be shaven, then any argument they give you, you realise its a misunderstanding on their part (AS USUAL).

"Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?" - 1 Corinthians 11:14

Keep getting your hair cut people, the Lord asks you to do it never mind COMMAND AGAINST.

Please help share this blog and use it to answer critics and atheists who are giving you trouble!

The truth is really simple and easy to get, the Devils just good at what he does, deception, and if your with Christ the devils powers don't work very well, so see past the matrix of lies and deception in our world, there is a major plan going on and this is the most important and climactic time of our world, the bible foretold the end, and ladies and gentlemen whether you know it yet or not, were in the end-times described in the bible.

  1. Well, a lot of people who have "trouble" with these passages are merely looking to make trouble- and are middling like the pharisees- who only want to start arguments! (christ is king from google here :) we all know VERY well what was meant by those words, but folks like to dig, to look for little things just to waste or look for ways to excuse their own sin! They know VERY well what God meant, but they want to look for ways and passages from scripture to excuse their heathen habits. Its like the people that ask "what does scripture say about tattoos" while all this time they know they are only looking for permission to look and act like a heathen!

  2. Amen brother! the word is of no other interpretation! the devil gets his atheists to try and come up with many but the word is the word! its just good to be able to set little issues like this straight that trip up so many new Christians! and you are right Kris it is so they can act how they want, the Bible gives them rules so anything that doesn't have a set of rules will look more appealing! only the wise know their kingdom is not of this world brother remember it!

  5. there is no more time. the coming of our LORD JESUS CHRIST is at hand.and the sings of his coming are every where.. all the sings that the bible talked about has already happened we are just under his grace and why it is so is because GOD is still looking out for the sinful soil to repent..

  6. I do have one question, in every picture and description of Jesus Christ he has long hair and a long beard; is the son of god shaming himself? I am a Christian but I am a new Christian so I still have questions and such, I am not meaning to be disrespectful in any way.

    1. Thanks for your comment friend. Pay no attention to any depiction of our Lord and Saviour, they are all man made by people who never knew Him.

The image of God is found in God's word! Focus on that!

And also most of the depictions we see of "Jesus Christ" are really "Cesar Borgia"..

Jesus was most likely a black tanned man like people of that area at the time.

No accurate depictions exist just man made images so they are less than important friend!

    2. The person acted like Jesus No one knows how Jesus was. And Jesus can not misrepresent himself against the very word he preach and teach. Any body can play the part of Jesus following the bible

  7. Read 1 Corinthians a little farther folks. Cause if you're lookin at it that way, a woman is not suppose to cut her hair. However, the verse I really wanna bring out is 1 Corinthians 11:16. And I quote, from King James Version, "But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.". In other words. Do with your hair as you wish. Grow it, or cut it. Paul didn't like men havin long hair. That's why he said it's a shame. But he makes clear, that even the church of God had no custom one way or the other. Think of this as well. God COMMANDED Samson to NOT cut his hair. Now why would God command someone to do something that he sees as wrong? Sounds contradictory to me. And contradiction causes confusion. But the bible says that God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. So God will not contradict himself. Food fer thought.
